Christmas in August

Presley found this dress-up dress in the closet the other day and wanted to put it on. We might have to revisit this come December!

Barbies

I snuck up on the girls sitting next to each other the other day playing Barbies. Barbie holds a special place in my heart. I was obsessed with Barbies when I was little. I would carry my suitcase full of Barbies and accessories down to my friend Laura's house to play, or she would haul her stuff up to my house. We would basically divide all the stuff one piece at a time and then set up two houses. We'd set up for hours and then actually 'play' for ten minutes (or less). It was so fun!
The girls haven't built up an arsenal of Barbie stuff. It's still in it's infancy! They actually haven't been too interested until recently.
We also got the playroom all set up and ready for some good playin'. As you can see they have a lot of space to move around and play! Yeah...not so much, but it looks good! It's not as bad as what this picture makes it look like... I want to post some before and afters soon!

Summer haze

This picture is horrible. I specifically went inside and got my little camera to take some pictures of the girls swimming with their cousins at Aunt Shelly's. But then my lens fogged up from going from inside to outside and then Teagan wasn't feelin' it. And then I forgot to take any more after my lens and Teagan acclimated. It's hard to take worry about pictures at the pool with little ones anyway!
Oh well, this picture does give you a glimpse at how fun her new pool is! There's a fun (and fast) slide, shallow areas for the little ones to play and practice swimming, and it's huge!!

Fun with The Fasha

We got these wooden blocks from Walmart. The girls (and Price) have had so much fun with them! Price thinks Presley is going to be an architect. She really enjoys building! However, it's hard to build anything with Teagan around, because all she wants to do is just knock it down. Little stinker!

Maverick Blu

Our house was too quiet... So we added a new member. A mini Australian Shepherd with the pretty blue eyes. Maverick Blu.

Here's to hoping house breaking will be quick and easy and the chewing phase won't last long. Someone asked me just today if that meant no more babies. I hope not!

Foxy

This is a hard post to write. A couple weeks ago Foxy passed away unexpectedly.

This picture was taken on Price's phone a long time ago. It shows Foxy's sweet gentle nature.

This picture also shows exactly how Foxy was. Always where the action was, not just to catch a bite to eat, but because she loved us.

Foxy, we love you and miss you terribly.

Look-a-like

Alison found this picture while she was deep cleaning and emailed it. It was August of '83, so I had just turned three. Teagan will be three at the end of October. I'm assuming we were told to make a funny face? These days with digital cameras, these 'inperfect' type of snapshots aren't as common to see. (You know you're old when you start a sentence with 'these days'! haha)

Here's Teagan last month.

Too cute, part 2!

I thought I'd gather an iphone medley of Teagan too.

Waking up from a nap. She wasn't a happy camper, obviously!

Cuddled up, sleeping like a baby!

Walking to the park with her purse.

Lookin' just cute with those boots and tights and skirt! She LOVED those boots. Boots will be on the must have list this winter!

At a birthday party. Her name was misspelled, but she didn't care!

Not sure what her hair was doing or why she was so stinkin' happy!

Too cute

Price downloaded some of his old iphone pics on my computer and I was just looking through them and found the cutest thing. When I was pregnant with Teagan, Presley would love to put her head on my tummy, but always wanted my shirt up.

That is a lot of belly! And that child LOVED her paci!! And I loved this one of Price and Presley snuggled up. They were on the very edge of the bed, and I wasn't complainin'!

Playroom fun!

The girls had a birthday party and I snapped a few pictures while they played.

It's fun to watch how they play together, pretend, and imagine!

Kids say funny things!

However, I can't remember them all! Seriously, I'll think, I need to write that down so I'll remember. Because, when I sit down at the computer to blog about the funny things they do or say, my mind becomes blank. So I made some notes to myself!

Presley, who's now four, tells everyone she meets that she's "this many" (holding up four fingers). She throws something the other day while we were in the kitchen. It accidentally hit me in the leg. She started laughing, and I said, "Heeeey, that wasn't funny." And she said, "It wasn't funny to yoooou, it was funny to meeee!"

As if you can't tell from that picture, she is dramatic! She wanted freckles, so we painted some freckles on. You can see her bandaid on her forehead because she can't leave any sores alone. And of course, her pink stick-on fingernails! (I have to admit, I was obsessed with press on nails when I was young. So the apple doesn't fall far from the tree in this household!)

And Teagan and I had this conversation the other day.

Teagan: I smell poop.
Me: Where?
Teagan: In my diaper.
Me: Did you poop?
Teagan: Yeah.

This day, she found her cousin Madden's backpack and put on his shorts and shoes. And was evidently very pleased with herself!

Here's some video footage of the girls with their fake fingernails!
