To get me back in my groove...

What we've been doing....

Presley's been loving the weather, digging for worms, collecting the nastiest looking insects she can find, getting her learn on at school, and just getting so big.

She knows I don't like to touch anything she finds under those rocks, but she still taunts me.

She wants to be a 'big kid' and to her that means not wearing dresses and skirts. I know, just when I thought I had her figured out!! She goes to school looking mismatched most days. Oh here's an example of not only the disgusting insects but the long sleeves with shorts, the blues with the blacks.

The other day she asked if she could wear [something I can't even remember] and when I said unexpectedly yes, she squinted her eyes and smiled and said, "you're a good mother" while she nodded. What if I had said no? She claims she still would think I was a good mother (I had to ask). mmmm, hmmmm

And everyday she changes right when she gets home from school causing much weeping and gnashing of teeth from the laundry girl. But I allow it so she can flex her independent fashion muscle. She knows she has free reign and takes full advantage, wearing something like this.

That shirt is size 24 months. No worries though, it's been donated.

See that red tutu Teagan has on? She's obsessed with it! She wore it to preschool three times in a row. Finally today she chose a red and green tulle tutu from the playroom. It's how I got her off the half hour I-don't-wanna-go-to-school tantrum train.

Other than that, Teagan has been our little butterfly catcher. She will spend all her outdoor time trying to sneak up on butterflies causing the untimely demise of a few. Finally Price made her a butterfly catcher. It was pretty gangsta.

We finally ran across a butterfly net at the store and snatched it up speedy quick.

Teagan is a clown lately and will do whatever it takes to get you to laugh. She is constantly moving, jumping, crawling, climbing, running and falling and has bruises all up and down her poor little chins right now. She gets hurt all the time and yet still has no fear.

She loves potty humor, can get a tad over aggressive, and doesn't walk past Temple without talking baby talk and getting her to smile.

Baby Temple is getting so big! She's already almost 6 and a half months old!

Loving this dress with those shoes! She's still a chunky monkey! She'll smile at anyone who looks at her! She's patient and content most of the time. She's even been known to take a bottle a time or two, sometimes with formula in it! This is huge for my offspring! But the last few times, not so much. So I guess she's over that.

We're just starting to get baby food and cereal down. She loves it. She really loves the food. The cereal she tolerates.

She's a weird sleeper. She'll wake up in the middle of the night and talk and kick and just want to be awake. Then she starts to fuss and is in between wanting to go back to sleep and stay awake. We've had a few good nights in a row, so maybe we're done with that too!

Temple is just starting to object when you take something away or when I put her down and walk away. So she spends lots of time on my hip. Lucky for me, she'll go to anyone right now! She does like her exersaucers and shares nicely during baby play dates.

She was kicking Maverick the other day and he liked it!

Last night on her mat, I heard her laughing while I was getting the big girls ready for bed. I looked and Maverick was laying by her smelling her face. I'm just going to assume he was NOT licking her face!!

Mav lives for frisbee, is slightly less annoying lately, and a great guard dog.

I bonded with him during a few runs, but then he had to go chew up a shoe! So he's back on my list. But we're working it out.

So Price and I are on the wagon to eating good and exercising. I do a bootcamp three times a week and LOVE it. Now don't get me wrong, I will still enjoy a cold daddy.

I was in my friend Han's wedding at the end of march and had to do about a full week long feminizing before hand.

It was a beautiful wedding and fun to get all gussied up!

Price has been so busy with work and really finding the accounts he has rewarding and fulfilling. He spends every non-working minute with the girls.

He does manage to squeeze in his other love.

I think that about sums it up!

Might as well be boys!

Here's some of the things I heard tonight after putting the girls to sleep.

Mom, Presley put her booty in my face.
Mom, Teagan wiped a booger on me.
Mom, Teagan tooted in my face.
Mom, my booty itches.

That's just the gross things.

It doesn't include the "I'm thirsty, I have to pee, she hit me, she spilled water on my side, no I didn't" etc, etc for thirty minutes.

Bedtime is a daunting task.

Teagan-ism

Teagan came in with a big wad of bubblegum in her mouth.

Me: Uh, how many gumballs do you have in your mouth?
Teagan: One!
Me, questioning: How many?
Teagan: Two...
Me, still questioning: How many?
Teagan: Two!
Me: {one eyebrow raised}
Teagan: Five....

Paralysis by Analysis

Have ya'll ever heard about this? Oh my gosh, there couldn't be a more perfect description of me! Literally, I over think things and then I short wire.

Yesterday I started looking at playroom inspiration on Pinterest, because I think we're finally ready to convert the man cave (sorry Price) to a playroom and make a room for Temple. We want to make the playroom fun and maybe make a stage for the girls to perform for us (their favorite pastime these days)! But I started thinking so big (shelves, lighting, paint, new floor, etc) that I seriously started becoming anxious....about everything...Price admiring his new guns out on the table(don't even get me started, don't EVEN get me started), the house being messy, the laundry piles, the Costco surplus I don't want to go to waste, the pictures I need to edit, "that damn stupid dog", the new (to us) dresser I wanted to go pick up and refinish, spring break planning, summer vacation planning, and I could go on and on. From the least of my worries to the biggest! It took me a minute or fifteen to snap out of it.

The "cure" to this analysis paralysis? To not think BIG! (According to google, anyway.) But in yesterday's case, that WAS it, and good to know what caused me to go into that tizzy (playroom overhaul and then shuffling of rooms). I can't think about too many things at once.

That explains why I have to pick up the house before I sit down to work on the computer and clean the kitchen before I can cook. It explains why I pick up a few articles of clothing at the store, carry them around and then decide against everything at the last minute and leave with nothing. It explains why I'm so "right now" (as Price calls me) when I get my mind on one thing and I must. do it. now. And it's all I can think of. Because, IT IS all I can think of!! (Drives him crazy!) (And me too!) It explains why I had to make three grocery store trips for Presley's school valentine's day party. It really explains why I'm a procrastinator. I have to have that added pressure to MAKE me make a decision!

Ya'll. I seriously feel like I know myself better right now!

Hello, me. Nice to meet you.

Parenting fails

Last Sunday, the weather was so nice the girls begged us to let them play in the sprinkler. For some reason, we agreed.

They took a hot bath afterwards to warm up. In their suits.

**********

We traveled to west Texas last weekend to celebrate the life and lay to rest my sweet Grandmother. One day soon I'd like to write about all the great things about my Grandmother. (Speaking of, I heard a little girl in target calling, "Grandmother?" You don't hear that much anymore. It's so formal and old fashioned and I love it. I want to be called Grandmother myself. Anyway, it brought a smile to my face!)

Well I forgot to pack any play toys for the car seat. A water bottle worked for a while. But the last ten minutes, this worked better.

And then this.

Just kidding! Just Dad being silly while us big girls were in the ladies room on the way back home.

*********

The girls started a drama class last week. Price and I spent the 45 minutes enjoying these and the gorgeous weather on a patio nearby.

Needless to say we were all looking forward to drama this week. And I'll be darn, I forgot about it! I don't know how because Presley's asked me every day since.

***********

And then there's the girls favorite thing in life right now....

...holding temple standing up.

Please note they're blurring because I was trying to be quick about it!

**********

Not to mention I've been terrible about not taking many pictures/using my phone camera. Something I said I was going to work on....

And there's plenty more (parenting fails) where those came from!

Will work for boots!

Anyone on instagram? I just got on. I love it! Taylorpointer is my user name if you want to follow me. I'm just figuring everything out. But anywho, I posted these pictures already there but wanted to post here too.

On Tuesday the girls and I met their cousin Cash, Aunt Shelly and Uncle Heath, who owns Cowboy Cool, out in Dallas to shoot a new line of kid's boots and accessories.

And omg the cuteness! These are pics from my phone that I added a couple different filters on in instagram.

I know you can hardly see their boots in these but you can see how cute they looked and how much fun they had. Presley didn't want to stop taking pictures and Teagan did awesome. All three of them had glowing reports from the crew of how well behaved they were! We got to keep the pink boots. Now if I can only get them to wear em!

I can't wait to see the pics on the website!
